since they are both and have been discontinued for
a long time now and hardly any of us ever see these

Cable Modem NOTES:
If you have a problem connecting with the SB4100 modem where the lights cycle and then all the lights go out again with the connection not working try pressing the standby button. The standby button on the SB4100 gets stuck on some modems. Fortunately Motorola has re-designed the standby button on the new Surfboard 4101.

The SB4100-0.4.4.0-SCM06-NOSH firmware upgrade fixes a problem with the 4.0.12-SCMxx version that was intermittently causing poor upload speeds and the 4.0.9-SCMxx RF interference problem that could cause the Ethernet interface to freeze.

You can check your firmware by going to http://192.168.100.1/ and click on the "Help" tab.
As of rigth now I have seen now significant differance between the 4100/4101 and 4200 Cable Modems. Meaning the screenshots for the 4100 posted above should be applicable for the 4101 and 4200 series Surfboard Modems.

SurfBoard Usb drivers have a uninstall executable to completely remove the drivers from the Windows registry, something the uninstall Wizard of Windows sometimes cannot remove properly, If you are having problems loading Usb drivers, run the remove.exe
