Usb Composite Device: Having problems getting the Usb drivers to load?
If your having problems reinstalling Usb Cable Modem drivers from a CD-rom after removal and getting an error "Cannot locate or find drivers for this device" first make sure you are searching in the correct path.
For example make sure it is searching in the C:\ D (D is normally the CD rom drive) if you are try this it may help you load the drivers. Cancel out of the driver installtion Wizard and go back to the "Device Manager", find the Usb device (probably with an Yellow exclamtion or Red question mark next to it) and remove it again.
Second go to the bottom under Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for what is called "USB Composite Device" and remove it as well! After unistalling both allow the computer to reboot, now during reboot you will get prompted to reinstall the Usb Composite device first, click yes and allow Windows to load the drivers as normal. Then you will get prompted to load the drivers for the Usb Cable Modem, proceed as normal to load the Usb drivers as well and it should go off without a hitch!
The procedure above has had a high sucess rate to remedy this problem however its not qauranteed. Second I have also seen in some cases where there is no Usb Composite Device listed as well. If this is the case as the old sayin goes "I cant do nothin for ya man"!
