NMAP - (Network Management and Provisioning System)
NMAPS 4.0is an advanced network management software tool for Com21's ComUNITY Access System solution - the company's leading-edge integrated cable access technology. The new software release supports a host of features designed with the cable operator in mind and provides new levels of operational effectiveness and performance across ComUNITY customer networks.
The NMAPS Tools suite provides a set of applications that analyze network performance, growth and utilization. This allows network operators to effectively monitor and predict network performance.The NMAPS Remote suite allows the entire network to be managed with a standard Java-enabled Web browser, allowing remote systems management from virtually anywhere in the world.
The NMAPS Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) group provisioning feature, allows the creation of virtual broadcast domains, irrespective of the physical s tructure of the network. This means like users can be grouped into their own separate and private virtual network within the overall network, even though all users share the same downstream and sometimes upstream channels.
VLAN Provisioning through cable modem management menu Fault Detection NMAPS provides high network visibility and control through a suite of configurable alarms, diagnostic tools, and performance monitoring features. These tools are used to detect and correct minor network problems before they become major ones.
