DOCSIS -(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification). checks

DOCSIS db check tutorial

When running a db check on a cable modem DOCSIS or non DOCSIS there is other good information that it will provide for you other than just the signal.

Transmit Power Level 20.0 dBmV
Receive Power Level 7 dB
Signal-to-Noise Ratio 36.7 dB

Modem Status online -
Modem IP 10.1.4.15 -(IP Address of the Modems interface to the Headend)
Modem is on (Blade/0/UpStreamPort) Cable3/0/U1
Number of CPEs 1 (-# of Ethernet devices registered).
--> Read below for more details on CPE..

CPE IP Address 24.241.0.151 -(IP address of the Customers computer).
CPE Ethernet MAC 0001.02cf.769d -(MAC id of the Ethernet Device inside the customers PC).

Exeptable db ranges for a DOCSIS Cable Modem.
Transmit Power Level = 23db to 58db
Receive Power Level= -15db to +15db
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)=Low is 20db-Technically their is no such thing as to
high. (However you typically on a good SNR check will see around 30-40db).
